It was my great pleasure to open the new Emergency Village at Bassetlaw Hospital. This is a pivotal moment for the local area, bringing a brand-new state of the art Emergency Department to Bassetlaw.
This new development increases the size of Bassetlaw’s Emergency Department and includes a Children’s Assessment Unit, allowing children to stay at Bassetlaw Hospital for a short overnight stay. There is also additional provision for adult in-patient and assessment.
This is the end of a long journey that began in 2017, when I marched alongside the parents and children of Bassetlaw to oppose the closure of our local Children’s ward and I am so pleased that we will soon see the return of overnight paediatric care. I will continue to fight hard for our local hospital.
